Walk Year

Terms

Last updated October 30, 2026

These terms cover your use of walkyear.com, the Walk Year app, and Walk Year emails, all run by Rob ("we," "us"). By joining or using Walk Year, you agree to them. We've kept them short and plain.

What Walk Year is

Walk Year is a free walking challenge. You pick a start date and set your own goals, and we help you track them and cheer you on. Some extras, like the physical plate kit, may cost money. If so, the price and any terms will be shown before you buy.

Walk safely

Walking is good for most people, but you know your body best. Walk Year is encouragement, not medical advice.

You choose when, where, and how far you walk, and you take part at your own risk.

Who can join

You need to be at least 13 to use Walk Year. If you're under 18, please use it with a parent's or guardian's permission. Some future features, like Postcard Pals, will be for adults only.

Your account and your stuff

Strava and other services

If you connect Strava, Strava's own terms also apply to your Strava account. Walk Year is not made by Strava and is not endorsed by Strava. We aren't responsible for other services, and if they change or stop working, parts of Walk Year may change too.

Our name and design

The Walk Year name, logo, plate design, stickers, and app are ours. You're welcome to share your progress cards and use #walkyear. Please don't copy the app or present your own product as Walk Year.

Changes and availability

Walk Year is a small, growing project. We may add, change, or remove features, and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let subscribers know by email.

The legal part

Walk Year is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for injuries or damages arising from your walks or your use of Walk Year. If we are ever found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, or $50 if you paid nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, USA.

Leaving

You can stop using Walk Year at any time. Unsubscribe from any email, disconnect Strava, and email us if you'd like your information deleted, as described in our privacy page.
